Can Mediacorps new crop rival the Four Heavenly Kings?
Have you heard about Mediacorp’s latest endeavour? The #8dukes campaign is to launch eight Channel 8 actors we’ve never heard of into internet notoriety.

According to this Singpost story http://singpost.blogspot.com/2014/04/8-dukes-of-caldecott-hill.html the term was coined during a Star Search 2014 skit by accident.
Now, Mediacorp is trying to make it a thing. Complete with its own #hashtag.
These handsome guys could surely all pass for Singapore’s Next Top Male Model participants. And kudos for trying, Mediacorp!
But, hey, it’s hard not to draw comparisons to the original Four Heavenly Kings (四大天王) of Cantopop. Namely Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok and Leon Lai: the hotties who captured countless hearts in the 90s.
Just look at them!
They even look uber dashing when they made a comeback in 2003, at this tribute concert.
This may be showing our age, but we at FSAAM say to the 8 Dukes of Caldecott Hill: You have very large, very sexy shoes to fill.
