The only Town Council to see red this year was opposition ran Aljunied – Hougang – Punggol East Town Council.
It’s two in a row now for the Worker’s Party ran constituency. They’ve seen red consecutively in this and last years AHPETC performance. The AHPETC performance judges on five criterias, estate cleanliness, estate maintenance, lift performance, service and conservancy charges (S&CC) arrears management and corporate governance.
The pole of Town Councils are given green, amber and red as indicators for how well they’ve done in the various areas as listed above. Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council however received red panels for S&CC arrears management and Corporate Governance.
It has been reported that the opposition ran town council has failed to turn in their FY13 financial statements and it’s self-declared corporate governance checklist yet, they’ve also failed to rectify various legal and regulatory contraventions from 2011 – 2012.
