Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan says that there are plans to increase the living environment for residents of Potong Pasir.
Take a trip towards Potong Pasir and you’d notice a sudden change from if you’re coming from its closer neighbours, for example Serangoon or Braddell. However all that is expected to change with Potong Pasir set to undergo changes to it’s environment.
The minister was addressing a letter from Lina Chiam, Non-Consituency Member of Parliament and the wife of Chiam See Tong who was MP of Potong Pasir for a little more than 25 years. The letter inquired about plans for Potong Pasir and Toa Payoh Lorong 8 over the next five years.
According to Mr Khaw, the stretch of Kallang River from Potong Pasir Ave 1 to St Andrew’s Junior School, and the drain along Lorong 8 are being enhanced PUB’s Active, Beautiful and Clean (ABC) Water’s programme. More sheltered walkways from Potong Pasir MRT Station as well as cycling paths connecting Potong Pasir MRT to the Kallang Park Connector are also in the pipeline added Mr Khaw.
