Greece was already bankrupt.
It took loans from IMF, EC, ECB – whom they call the troika.
Alexis Tsipras became their prime minister in January this year.
Alexis Tsipras won because he promised the people that he will not bow to the terms of the troika. Unlike the government then. He lied.
The people believed him. They voted him in.
After 7 months of tricks, he went back to the people to say “I have run out of ideas, do you want to continue to borrow from troika?”
The people said “NO!”
He went back to the troika and said, “My people said no, but I will say yes”.
He goes back to Greece. The people feel betrayed. They have voted in someone who is now going to make their lives worse than the last Prime Minister.
But they are stuck with him till the next election. Unless, they resort to VIOLENCE.
And you are almost going to see that in Greece. Minor skirmishes are happening now. It just takes a spark next and we will see sad images.
Sadder than the old Greeks who lined up outside their banks to withdraw only 60 Euros because the banks had no money.
Vote wisely.
