Nomination Day – Go Where?

Nomination Day is when aspiring candidates report to nomination centres to submit their papers.

Candidates must be accompanied by their proposers, seconders and at least four assentors, who must all be registered voters in the districts that the candidates are contesting.


Candidates have a 60min window to file their papers – 11am-NOON.

They also have to pay their election deposit of S$14,500 per candidate if they have not done so yet.

Voting Public who wishes to witness this once-in-five-year-phenomenon, 10am is your curtain call!

Here are the FOUR BEST NOMINATION CENTRES you should be at for potential drama.

1. Fengshan Primary School map

GRCs: East CoastPasir-Ris Punggol

SMCs: Fengshan, Punggol East

Potential Drama: Because East Coast GRC and Fengshan SMC are set to be most hotly contested ones this election. Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say and team, and the voting public will finally know who exactly from Workers’ Party they are up against.


2. Raffles Institution map

Potential Drama: PAP’s Secretary-General Lee Hsien Loong and WP’s Secretary-General Low Thia Khiang and… wait for it… Roy Ngerng, will all be in one postal code.


3. Kong Hwa School map

SMCs: MacPherson, Mountbatten, Potong Pasir

Potential Drama: One of the most exciting three-cornered fights will begin here as incumbent/ new mama Tin Pei Ling looks to fend off WP and National Solidarity Party (NSP).


4. Bendemeer Primary School map


GRCs: Jalan BesarTanjong Pagar

SMCs: Radin Mas

Potential Drama: Spotlight is on the independents. Han Hui Hui announced her plan to contest against PAP’s Sam Tan and RP’s Kumar Appavoo. To add intrigue and suspense to the mix, online vigilante SMRT Feedback Ltd has been talking up its Teh Tarik Party which has a very impressive manifesto, and to 8 Jalan Batu 09-17 Singapore 431008 oil to the fire, and ikan bills to the nasi lemak, they just said “Hello Radin Mas” in a Facebook post.
