According to a South China Morning Post report, courts in Chengdu in Sichuan province upheld a one-year jail term to a man who slipped male hormones into his colleague’s food and drink. Zhou Chuanjie had laced the woman’s meals with methyltestosterone, a synthetic steroid.
Zhou claimed to have fixed the woman’s food as a joke and claimed he had only put in vitamins. According to the victim, it was an act of revenge.
The woman discovered she had started growing thicker body hair and her voice became lower pitched. Her menses were reported to have stopped also. Along with the transformation, the hormones have caused her liver damage.
She was said to have consumed the steroids in her food for about six months.
